User Survey: Alicante-Elche is the #1 Airport in Spain!

The holiday rental search engine Holidu prepared in October 2022 a classification of the best airports in Spain, taking into account the rating obtained through user reviews on Google. This ranking is headed by Alicante-Elche airport (IATA code: ALC, OACI code: LEAL), which is also located as the fourth in all of Europe. The airport, which bears the name of the poet Miguel Hernández, achieves an average score of 4.3 out of 5 and, at the time the study was closed, had 11,301 reviews on Google.

Due to its privileged geographic situation of high touristic interest, the Alicante-Elche Airport operates mostly international destinations. More than 80 per cent of the passengers using the Alicante-Elche Airport are international travellers, the majority coming from Great Britain, Germany, The Netherlands, and the Nordic countries. Among national destinations, the airports of Madrid, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca are the ones with the most connections with Alicante-Elche.

What do Alicante airport users value?

The good grade achieved by what is considered the main gateway to the Valencian Community and the Region of Murcia responds, above all, to the extensive and diverse gastronomic and commercial offer existing in its facilities. This factor is very highly valued by domestic and foreign tourists alike.

But users have highlighted many more advantages that play in ALC’s favor. One of them is that, despite being an airport through which thousands of people pass every day, it is well organized, spacious and well lit, translating into a good experience for the passenger.
